Memories of Mom

My brother Stephen and I waiting for her to finish making chocolate chip cookies and cake so Ier could lick the spoon

Coming home to Oreo cookies  and milk

Watching Dark Shadows together

Seeing her eat every Easy Bake Oven treat I ever make

Her Carbonite and french fries

Singing in French

Calling my father "Raymoe"

Calling me "Glendaleen"

Having the best dressed baby dolls on the block with her home sewned cloths

Teasing her when  she would say the words, "air" for "hair" and "tree" for "three", she told me that she learned how to speak English watching the "I love Lucy Show" and I told her that she must have listened to Ricky instead of Lucy.

Watching her dance with my dad at our home parties each New Year and at my wedding

Shopping and conning her into buying me whatever I wanted so I wouldn't have to spend my allowance.

Talking Dad into letting me drive the family station wagon home the first day I got my drivers permit.  And watching us in the driveway as the police car dropped us off because I crashed the car through the woods.

Having the biggest and best Christmas every year for 46 years of my life

Seeing her smile when I gave birth to Josie, the little girl she always knew I would have.

Loving me with a passion that I could never understand until I too had a daughter, a little girl  that Iwould become the woman that both a grandmother and mother so proud.

The one that I still laugh about is when we all (Josie, Glenda and myself) got so sunburnt on the beach, after Denise told us to wear sunscreen.  We came home and she had to drive Josie and I to the drug store to find some meds, lotions and lip balm.  She knew just what would make it better, it hurt like crazy but what ever it was it work!
